Today it is commonplace to find reproductions or pirated cartridges on eBay and other online shops. Sometimes these versions are very useful when the originals have become very expensive and not found (otherwise it is the solution of the Everdrive). I think for example some Megadrive titles like Twinkle Tale or Eliminate Down. However, in this jungle “Bootlegs” il faut distinguer more categories. The first classification can be compared to the quality of manufacture (Plastics, PCB), the second with respect to the appearance (box, notice…) and finally he must dissociate the original games without a license and Hacks (often come from Taiwan, see this entry).
Today I will introduce you Bootlegs Game Boy and Game Boy Color particularly well, some are positively surprising hacks.

Travel in China 2013 - Video game purchases !

A brief overview of my video game purchases made in China last month. Program : NES games, Megadrive and Gameboy, sometimes exclusive and unreleased ! Most are in a box and instructions and have been published by the company Guangzhou Li Cheng Industry & Trade Co (Li City, Guangzhou City Industry and Trade Co., Ltd.) #Castlevania & Game Boy, retrospective in pictures.

Added this week a dozen references in the item collection and a new Japanese Guide Book. I focused on the Castlevania games / Akumajo Dracula on various Nintendo Game Boy. I must say that for a lover of 2D action-adventure and platform-, the duo Nintendo and Konami has often worked well with this license. Although I did not make use of the lucky ones who can devote an entire room to their passion (at least, yet ^ - ^ ), I still appropriate a corner to play and store my games in one room of the house (that doubles as a music room and guest bedroom…). The walls of this room until being pure white, I thought fit to make a touch with a few new posters found for USD and licenses from the coolest Nintendo.

I tested the Retr0bright !

Who has not in his collection at least one cartridge or console, a joystick or keyboard, affected by syndrome yellowing plastic ? I think everyone sees what I mean and I must say that it sometimes reaches incredible proportions, particularly with equipment brand Nintendo. The reasons for this are not very clear : A cigarette smoke ? Heat ? Humidity ? Temperature variation ? Some say it comes from the composition of flame retardant plastic that react to heat… Forget the methods charlatants (toothpaste etc.…), because after several years of research, small chemists have finally developed a mixture to get it all : le Retr0bright ! (with a “zero” and not “the”).

This morning there was a garage sale in a village a few miles from my house. Despite the threatening weather and a temperature giving rather want to stay under the duvet (12° this morning brrr), move was worth it. I was a bit scared because it arrived attic was rather small and could be seen far mostly clothes, the storage and collection of stuff “for old”But ... at the corner of an alley, I finally saw a booth, with no one behind, and a NES placed on a corner of the table with some cartridges.

GB Games & FC Chinese Box !

Before last ticket on my shopping-entertaining video made in China with this time of games in box. You should know that this is something quite rare to have games in box and with instructions found in China and more often only pirate cartridges. I will present here my selection 4 Famicom titles and 3 cartouches GameBoy. In this selection we will find 2 hacks, one is a port of well done Phantasy Star IV sur Famicom (yes, you read ! ) and the other a hack GameBoy Color based on the series called Akumajo Dracula Castlevania DX.

Garage sale Sunday Vol-1

This weekend was the peak in terms of yard sales in my city with no less than 4 flea markets in everything. And for once I was in the area when this took place, I obviously woke up this Sunday morning to go to one of them at around 8am.

Is not at all in the trip ratisseur which collects anything that resembles loan or far cartridge or a game, I stayed reasonable, sometimes passing on things that interest me less but I could have “to resell” behind or “to cram in my collection, just because it is cheap”. I have neither the time, nor the place for that, and besides I did one flea on four (the largest) and above all I enjoyed the ride ended at home with fresh croissants. Glimpse of my findings:
