After most 2 weeks China, I'm back in France. I'll introduce in the next few days a series of Notes (3 have total) recounting a little my last tour in the Middle Kingdom. Beijing first, I already knew that I had already visited quite 2011 (see here and is), then Inner Mongolia, a little-known land of the Western (The Backpacker in anything above or Lonely Planet for example). iQue 3DS XL Edition Mario

This is the fourth 3DS console to go home : a 3DS XL Chinese iQue brand colors of Mario (after Zelda 3DS, 3DS Peach Earned Club Nintendo 3DS XL Pikachu). For those who do not know, I had already discussed history of the mark iQue when I presented Gameboy Advance iQue purchased during my last trip to China there are now 2 years. Nintendo products sold officially on Chinese soil have always been a bit special editions, exclusive and often very original, and since the Gameboy Advance. Released in December, 3DS XL is no exception and I'll introduce you to one of the 3 models sold on the market that I was kindly brought to Beijing.

Pirates & Design, WTF !

Here's a humorous little note compiling a selection of musical design of cartridges pirates. You will see, our pirates have some herbs “talent” to select various images and assimilate them into a game no matter how. But no matter how REALLY ! This is obviously distressing but often very funny, and I'm sure you've never seen Sonic, Mario or Batman, Scrooge and the Ninja Turtles in this light… Something to look like our boxes PAL NES Megaman to works of art !

iQue Game Boy Advance

Some of you may have had a brief glimpse at these games a ticket on my last trip to China, but I wanted to take the time to properly present these here Game Boy Advance games officially sold in China under the trademark iQue. iQue is a Chinese joint venture (more commonly known Joint Venture in the jargon) founded in 2002 by a Dr.. Wei Yen (a software engineer) et Nintendo Japan in order to distribute legally and officially branded products of Osaka, Japan.

#Famicom & #Super Famicom – Hong Kong Version

Always in my console started coming from countries more or less exotic, I present here two of my latest acquisitions, a Famicom the first model sold only in Hong Kong, a model quite rare since few distributed, and which has very interesting features. Then a Super Famicom,, with a small level feature video output. Both consoles are complete, with their box, even if they were obviously well lived. A ticket that is close to my heart since I lived some years in Hong Kong !

Megadrive games Chinese / Taiwanese / Russian

Last post on my purchases of retro games in China with a ticket filled with photos securities in box & notice. Pas mal of Bootlegs (unlicensed pirates) of course but also some exclusive titles developed in Taiwan in the late years 90 and some were allowed to exit via the English SuperFighter Team (Beggar Prince, Legend of Wukong… ). We will also see how, while being non-official, Cantonese Society in a ended up becoming, at least locally, itself to be copied later with products of lesser quality. Finally I will touch briefly on Russian market, country or Megadrive seems to have unofficially hardback after the fall of the Berlin Wall. This would explain why some cartridges produced in China have a label in Russian (I found a carton of Contra Hard Corps like this, you will see after the jump in ticket). A busy schedule but a priori, I think should interest, the most hardcore retro-gamers !

Hacks et X into 1 Megadrive

Today I will present some of the cartridges that I brought back from China for Megadrive. I've shown you some Famicom for a few days ago but know that these cartridges are also available for 16bit Sega. I dug up two 4 in 1 and a 8 in 1 (it is really excellent). But be aware that in China (and Russia, but we shall see in a future post), there is another phenomenon : that of Rom-Hack. The Rom-Hack is, at the base, to rip sprites and sets a variety of games to create new from a motor home. Often you end up with games not really terrible, but some still deserves to stand out. I will present four right here, for better or for worse…

T-Shirts Panda-Box

Here's a ticket that will definitely please you much. Anyway when I came across these t-shirts and this cushion cover, My heart missed a beat before I start to stack without counting. Deflection of Doraemon based hero cartoons or video games ? This is an original idea that I was hooked ! A 40 Yuan a piece as you say the only thing I reasoned in the end it was to think the weight of my luggage and instead I had left… otherwise I will have taken many more. Besides, I'll show you other designs in this post (an extract) and you will understand why I was like a madman…
Quand au T-shirt Shin Chan, he made me laugh so I went with also.
